entresol

A mezzanine is an extremely desirable solution because it fills in the part of the house or apartment that would not otherwise be built on. At the same time, it is a way of providing additional space, which has already proved its worth, for example, with a large, multi-person family. Speaking about it, you can not ignore the fact that the mezzanine is an exceptionally nice place.

It is usually located on a mezzanine floor and can be reached by stairs. Of course, this is not a classic room, although it can also perform such a function. The surface itself is dependent primarily on our spatial and financial capabilities. A key factor influencing the popularity of the mezzanine mezzanine is the possibility of gaining additional space. It usually has a study room for work, but the mezzanine can be used as a dressing room, a library or even a bedroom. It is also an original passage between the ground floor and the first floor of the house. If you are dealing with tall interiors, the practical solution is a bed on the mezzanine floor, which contributes to considerable space saving. If it is well-designed, it has one more advantage: it increases the functionality of the bedroom, giving it an original character. It is worth noting that the mezzanine is a universal solution. We associate it primarily with spacious single-family houses, but it also works well in small apartments. At the same time, it can be built in any room using almost unlimited possibilities.

How do I find a bed for the mezzanine?

It is assumed that the mezzanine, which has only the function of a bedroom, should be at least 120 centimetres high. It is this height that makes it relatively comfortable to use. However, it must not be forgotten that the higher the higher the better, because it gives us freedom of movement within it. If the room is more than 4 metres high, the mezzanine may be an interesting idea for a mezzanine floor. If you are looking for savings, you should first look at wooden children's beds, which are less than 1.3 metres high and have a standard size of 90 by 180 centimetres. Of course, the cost of buying a bed should also include the one that involves an investment in a mattress. The larger the bed is to appear on the mezzanine, the greater the cost is to be taken into account. Of course, we gain in return solutions that can be used very comfortably not only by children but also by adults. Most often a ladder leads to them, although an interesting alternative to it are millstones. Once again, you should also take into account the need to buy a mattress.

Focusing on comfort and convenience it is worth to think about a bed with full built-up area. Today we are dealing with a very large selection of solutions of this type. Under the mezzanine you can place cabinets, shelves and even a multifunctional desk under the mezzanine. Of course, such beds are not cheap and their price (depending on the type of equipment) ranges from 1500 to 3000 PLN. An even greater expense is the mezzanine with a double bed, i.e. one with a minimum width of 140 centimetres. Here the price can reach even 4000 PLN, you should take into account the fact that the vast majority of products of this kind is available only on request. In this case, the surface under the mezzanine may be a resting corner, although there is nothing to prevent it from being built with furniture.

What is worth knowing about the mezzanine construction?

The mezzanine is based on load-bearing structures, which are characterised by the fact that they are made either of steel profiles or of wooden squared timber. If there is only a single bed, there is nothing to prevent it from being attached to the wall. A climbing ladder usually resembles the one we see in bunk beds. If the size of the bed is larger, it is quite common for it to be fitted with a narrow staircase. When the bed is used by children, the most commonly chosen stairs are equipped with handrails to provide a high level of safety. Another solution is a single-circuit staircase, but here it is necessary to find quite a large area.

What else shouldn't you forget?

When we are dealing with beds on the mezzanine floors, we have to bear in mind that they are an excellent complement to the apartment. Their greatest advantage is their space-saving design, although they are often also seen as a decorative element. However, the mezzanine is also a place that requires special lighting. Very intensive ceiling lighting is particularly disadvantageous in this context, so it is advisable to focus mainly on directional lamps. A bedside lamp installed at the bedside and LED tape can also be a gentle mezzanine lighting. It is the lighting that affects not only the appearance but also the functionality of the bed.
