Cradle

When we bring our little one from the hospital, for the first period of our life, he mainly sleeps and eats. A cot is a basic element of equipment in a situation when we organize a place for a child in our bedroom. If the room in which our bedroom is located is not the largest, at the beginning of a child's life we can save some space by buying a cradle. It is also necessary to have cabinets or drawers for children's accessories and a changing table.

Adjusting the cot

A cot is a basic element of equipment in a situation when we organize a place for a toddler in our bedroom. Therefore, we need to plan its setting well so that access to the child at any time of day or night is not too difficult. While your baby is being fed by the mother, it is important to make sure that the cot is as close as possible to where it is sleeping. Thanks to that, especially at night, it will be easier for her to satisfy the needs of the toddler. However, if the baby is fed from a bottle, position the cot in such a way that each parent can easily reach it. You should also consider buying a cot that can be added to your parents' bed by removing the side of the cot.

However, free access to the child is not everything. When deciding where the cot will be located, the location of the window should also be taken into account. When we have a room in autumn or winter, we simply take the child to another room. However, we must remember that even on warm days, when we often leave the window open for the whole night, our child can also be predicted. The best solution is to place the cot on the wall opposite the window. This is not all, however, because we must also avoid placing it perpendicularly to the window, because it will still be possible to blow cold air directly onto the child. If it is not possible to position the cot properly, it is left to lift the baby out when the bedroom is ventilated.

What else to remember?

Very important is the temperature in the bedroom, which in the day can not exceed 22 degrees, and at night 19 degrees Celsius. A simple room thermometer set up next to the baby's cot is all you need to do to keep this under control. Remember also not to place the bed near the radiator, because dry air may have a bad effect on the baby's nose mucosa. To protect your child from the sun's irritating rays, the cot must be positioned backwards to the window when the bedroom is on the south, south-east or west side. If the room in which our bedroom is located is not the largest, at the beginning of a child's life we can save some space by buying a cradle, or a wicker basket on rocking-toys or wheels. It is small in size and we can move it without any problems if necessary.

Where to store your little one's things?

Where we store your child's belongings is largely dependent on how big your bedroom is. In small spaces it is enough to find some space in our own wardrobe and buy a changing table, which we will put on a cot. However, if there is enough space, it is worth buying a chest of drawers for children's things and a cabinet with a changing table and a shelf for the necessary cosmetics for children. Although many people don't think they need too many things, the truth is quite different. Therefore, it is worth buying spacious drawers or pull-out baskets. Near the changing table you should find the most necessary things, such as body, jackets or diapers. In the next drawers you can hide "output" clothing, jackets or shoes. It is also important to find a place for the cosmetics needed every time you change diapers, blankets, towels and, of course, all kinds of toys. When buying a cot, it is worth to choose one that has a drawer, so that you save some space.

A good solution is also to hide the containers under the bed, in which can fit a lot of things. Many parents also use special organizers, which can be hung on the cot railing. We can easily accommodate the most needed accessories. We should also remember that there should definitely be no shelves above the cot. If, however, they have to be installed there very well, so that it is not possible to detach them from the wall. For safety reasons, they should be at the level of the child's legs, not the child's head. Of course, we also cannot place heavy objects on them.

Magic of patterns and colours

When we bring our little one from the hospital, for the first period of his life, he sleeps, eats, stays on a changing table and in the arms of his parents. However, when he is two months old, he becomes more and more interested in the world. And although he doesn't see much at the moment, it's worth making sure that the colors and patterns appearing in his surroundings stimulate his development. At the very beginning it is worth to focus on contrasting colours, such as red, white and black, which are the most recognizable for a child. Therefore, we can buy covers for rungs in such colors, a carousel over the cot or wall stickers. Especially if we decide to place them at the changing table, with the passage of time, when the child starts to lift the head, such additions will arouse his great curiosity and force him to exercise, which will positively affect his development.
