Kitchen door

Kitchen is an extremely important room in any house or apartment, so we usually pay a lot of attention to its design. The most important issues in this case are, of course, the functionality of this place and its appearance, but you should also consider what type of door you will separate the kitchen from the rest of the rooms. Of course, modern kitchens are often combined with living rooms, but many people prefer to opt for traditional solutions so that kitchen scents do not get into the rest of the house.

It is worth remembering that the kitchen is not only the place where we cook, but it is also the center of our family life. It is often in the kitchen that the most intimate conversations on more or less serious topics take place. More and more often, shared cooking is also a way for families to spend time together, so it is important to work with the appropriate equipment in the room. In addition to furniture and all kitchen equipment, let's take care of a nice door that will not interfere with our daily duties.

Size

Please note that the minimum dimensions of kitchen doors are specified by the relevant regulations. According to them, the width of the door must be at least 0.8 metres and its height 2 metres in the light of the frame. Such dimensions will ensure comfort of free movement between rooms. In addition, for safety reasons, there can be no thresholds in the kitchen door, and it is worth making sure that the gap between the door and the floor is at least 2.5 centimeters. If you do not want such a gap to be visible, it is enough to choose a door with ventilation undercuts, grilles or sleeves, the most important is that the air flow is even.

Convenience and durability

When choosing a kitchen door, we must remember that it should be light, easy to close and not slam, because we use them quite often. Despite this, they should also be resistant to damage and, of course, play the most important role, which is to effectively prevent the spread of odors from the kitchen. Many people are thinking about buying solid wood doors, but this is not a very good choice. In addition to being heavy and warped, they are usually very expensive, so it is better to consider doors made of other materials. Which products of this type are therefore worth recommending? For example, non-rebated doors, made of smooth HDF board, which are characterized by low price, lightness and resistance to moisture, which, as you know, is an important aspect in the kitchen. We can also choose a door with a coating protecting its surface against abrasion and various chemicals. This includes the coating SILKSTONE and LAMISTONE.

Opening

The most popular types of doors are of course the swing doors, but before we decide to buy them we have to think carefully about the arrangement of furniture and kitchen equipment. Doors must not collide with them and must open in the right direction. In slightly smaller or less typical kitchens, where swing doors do not fulfill their role well, it is worth to install sliding doors. Nowadays, we can buy both a wall sliding system, which is well known to us, as well as one which is built in the wall and the wing can hide in a hole in the wall. Less functional are broken doors, also called folding doors. Opening and closing them is not particularly convenient, and they also reduce the width of the passageway.

Style

Doors are a very important element not only of the kitchen itself, but also of other rooms. They must fit into the overall arrangement of our house or flat. In modern interiors, where minimalism prevails, doors of simple form and non-adhesive construction are perfect. If we want our kitchen doors to be elegant and original, it is worth buying those with glazing. At present, manufacturers offer us glazing of various sizes and in many systems. Some people choose ornamented glazing, but many people also choose doors made entirely of tempered glass, as they fit perfectly into very modern interiors. Most people, when thinking about doors, imagine them in different shades of brown. Nowadays, however, more and more customers decide to buy doors in other, bolder colours. This is not a problem at all, as the manufacturers now offer us plenty of possibilities, so that everyone can find something suitable for their kitchen. People who focus on modernity, often paint their kitchens white, also choosing white elements of equipment. In this type of rooms, white or glass doors, as well as those painted in vivid colours, can work well. If you decide to go white, you can count on the fact that such doors will compose perfectly with modern cuisine by adding space to it. Strong colours, such as fuchsia or orange, will add a unique character to the room and cheer up our kitchen a bit.
