In addition, avoid furniture with complex structures, deep recesses and large openings that encourage your child to put his or her hands in dangerous places. Pointed, protruding elements may injure a child, while small, falling fragments may be swallowed.
Before we decide to choose a particular piece of furniture, it is essential to check whether the materials used in it are safe. If possible, choose environmentally friendly natural materials. For example, a varnish that has been painted on furniture should not contain heavy metals or other unfavourable compounds that a child could take. When it comes to wooden furniture, you should buy products made of solid solid wood. This is extremely important for a bed that will have to withstand the weight and play of the child. The material used must be of the highest quality, without any structural or surface defects.
All children's articles should have appropriate certificates and required certificates. This is no different for furniture and interior decoration. The most important certificate in the country is the Polish Standard (PN), which proves that the product meets the list of requirements created by Polish experts. It is also worth looking for products that meet European Standards (PN-EN) and international standards PN-ISO and PN-IEC. Materials from which children's accessories are manufactured are also controlled by the National Institute of Hygiene (PZH). Not only paints, varnishes and adhesives used in production are checked, but also textiles and fillings. The popular CE certificate guarantees that the goods have been produced and transported according to European standards, while the FSC certificate ensures that the wood used comes from sustainably managed forests.
