pellet stove

Pellet (pellet) - a modern, ecological alternative to traditional fuels used for heating residential houses, rooms, production plants. The raw material for pellets is wood waste.

Properly prepared raw material, in the form of small cuttings, is mechanically formed into granules (with a diameter of 6 or 8 mm and a length of up to 40 mm). The main advantage of pellets is their low CO2 emissions, which means that they are a clean fuel for combustion. Unlike other raw materials, they do not get dirty and burn thoroughly. The residue (ash) can be used as mulch. The disadvantage of this material is its easy susceptibility to moisture, so it is recommended to store the product in dry rooms.

In the heating industry, this raw material is used by eco-heaters or eco-cassettes. On a daily basis we can meet with the popular name of these devices, among others, goat for pellets.

Ecoparks are devices that work fully automatically: starting, stopping, programming the work for a whole week. As standard, each stove is equipped with an electronic thermostat that controls the combustion process. Most of the devices available on the market are equipped with a remote control, so that the use is very convenient and easy.

Easy installation!

The installation of the device is very simple. The appliances do not need to be connected to a flue pipe. An integrated mechanical smoke extractor is installed in the housing of these devices, which forces the draught and regulates it depending on the operating mode of the device. It is important that the outlet system is hermetically sealed with special cables that are sealed with silicone. A perfect concept for the smoke outlet is a steel vertical duct at least 1.5 m long, connected to the rear "T" system exhaust outlet, either inside or outside the room. The surface of the flue gas pipe can reach high temperatures, which can be dangerous for the household members, especially children. Therefore, a special grille made of non-flammable materials is a popular security feature. Furnaces of this type are placed on the floor (a glass or sheet metal plate can be used for protection). The connection to the chimney can be made with a rigid or flexible duct.

The rules for the installation of ecocassettes are very similar to those for ecocassettes. In most cases, they are installed in existing open hearths. In the vicinity of the stove or cassette, it should be possible to connect it to the mains. This enables automatic operation - firing, combustion control and feeding of pellets to the furnace. The room in which the stove or cassette will be located should be provided with an optimal air exchange similar to existing regulations.

Operation of pellet stoves

In addition, daily use is simple and comfortable. The control system used regulates the firing-up phase, the level of heating power and the extinguishing phase.

The day-to-day operation of the pellet stoves is limited to:

- Fill the tank with raw material (granulate) in the furnace or cassette,

- Settings of operating parameters (power, room temperature, etc.),

- Ash removal - the ash produced during the combustion process falls into a special container. However, the condition of the contents of the container must be checked regularly.

The great advantage of eco-stoves and eco-cassettes is that they are equipped with technically advanced safety systems so that in the event of a single component failure, the stove cannot be damaged or the room in which the unit is installed can be damaged.

The main mechanical safety devices are:

- Thermostat - controls the functioning of the screw feeder (in case of overheating of the tank, the fuel charging circuit is switched off).

- Vacuostat - measures the vacuum (thrust) in the exhaust pipe (in case of thrust problems or clogging of the pipe, the fuel charging circuit is switched off).

How do they heat?

A room heated by stoves and cassettes is heated in two ways:

1. air heating system; the units are equipped with fans with variable speed control that blow heated air into the room.

2. heating by central heating system (central heating); the stoves are equipped with a water jacket.

In Poland, pellet appliances are still an underestimated element of heating equipment in houses. However, the requirements for the use of renewable energy sources give the product group a great deal of perspective on this raw material.
