The kitchen is the heart of the house. In this room, the family meets for cooking or coffee together, this is where the smell of baked cakes comes from, this is where social gatherings often take place. To enjoy your household, it needs to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical. For this reason, it can be challenging to arrange and renovate it. How to make this process easier for yourself?

The most important aspect when renovating a kitchen is the plan. Properly thought out and prepared can mean more than half of the success. What elements should be included in it?

Budget. The amount of money you are able to spend on renovating your kitchen depends on a lot, although not everything. If you don't have enough money to renovate your entire room, you can try to redevelop part of what you already have. Thanks to a bit of patience you will renew your kitchen cupboards using furniture veneer. You can also replace their holders or mount new interior accessories such as partitions, baskets or shelves. With a limited budget, such solutions are often much more cost-effective than renovating the entire kitchen at any cost. For example, self-renovated buildings with a new, noble granite sink will make a better impression than a kitchen full of new, low-quality elements. Regardless of the scale of the planned renovation, remember that it is usually impossible to predict all the expenses in a house. Be ready for it and always have at your disposal a little more than planned.

Professionals. Kitchen specialists such as tilers, carpenters and plumbers rarely have a lot of free time. It is worth to take this into account in your plans and make an appointment with each of the professionals in advance, preferably before you buy the materials. The sequence of planning the services of the next specialists is very important. If you plan to carry out installation work in your kitchen (e.g. hydraulic work), this should be done before new plasters and tiles are laid. Tiling works should be carried out prior to the installation of equipment and fittings.

It's a long shot. The renovation of a kitchen should be a long-term investment, increasing the value of a flat or house. It must be carried out consciously and on a scale that we can afford without losing quality. The equipment on which we should not save money is, above all, the equipment:

  • table top - incorrectly adjusted may force incorrect position during washing
    and contribute to spinal disorders. Made of low-end materials it can be susceptible to stains, scratches and other damage;

  • granite sink - often determines the elegant and noble appearance of the entire room. Resistant to thermal and mechanical damage is the most durable variant available on the market.

  • adequate ventilation (hood, absorber) - optimal air exchange ensures that no unpleasant odours and dangerous products of gas combustion settle in the kitchen.

An optimal renovation plan covering all the key issues should significantly facilitate and shorten the time that the whole process will take. This is particularly important in a room such as a kitchen, which cannot be excluded from use for too long.
