pond

The pond is a spectacular element of any garden arrangement. There should be no gas or sewage systems or tree roots at the construction site. The pond can be built using ready-made resin or polyethylene moulds.

The pond is an interesting and very decorative element of the garden arrangement. When planning the construction of such a tank, one should first of all think carefully about its location. The pond should be located at a distance from the trees and in a place with variable sunlight, which will limit the growth of algae.

Garden pond - location

You can build a pond in your garden by yourself using only a few basic principles. When planning to create a tank with an area not exceeding 30 sq.m., no building permit is required. When you decide to build your own pond, you should carefully think about its location. The construction site should not contain any installations, whether gas, water, sewage, electrical or telephone. Sunshine is an important factor influencing the choice of the pond position. The tank should be located in a place with variable sunlight during the day. It is advisable for the sun to fall on the pond for 4-8 hours a day, but 1/3 of its surface should remain in the shade. This location prevents excessive algae growth and ensures an optimal dose of sunlight for the desired plants in the tank. The pond should be built at a certain distance from trees, the roots of which may make it difficult to build and, in time, destroy the structure of the reservoir. In addition, the deciduous trees directly above the pond are a cause of pollution, as the leaves in the water start to rot. When planning the construction of a pond, it is important to remember that it requires easy access to a source of water and electricity, so the reservoir is built in a place where electricity and water are easily accessible.

How to build a pond?

Building a pond by yourself is not difficult, because it is possible to use ready-made forms widely available on the gardening market. Moulds designed for the construction of the pond are made of polyester resins, which are quite heavy, but at the same time stable and very durable. Pond moulds can also be made of polyethylene, which is more flexible compared to resin. All eyelet moulds, regardless of material, are resistant to low temperatures and safe for plants and animals. They are available on the market in many variants with different depth, size and shape. The pond can also be poured out of concrete. This is due to the much higher workload, which is compensated for by the relatively low construction cost and the long-term strength of the structure. Every pond requires careful care. It is necessary to regularly catch floating impurities on the surface of the tank. For this purpose, it is useful to use a net placed on a long rod. It is also necessary to equip the pond with a special filter and pump to remove algae.
