air conditioner

If you decide to buy an air conditioner for a single-family house, you have to consider several factors. One of the most important tasks that await us is connected with the need to check how its action may affect our health. The decision to install air conditioning at home is not easy, so it is worth mentioning a few facts related to it.

The operation of an air conditioner primarily affects the air temperature, but it is not its only task. Last but not least, it seems that we are dealing with a solution that affects humidity. When we cool the air, we decide to dehumidify it at the same time, which in certain conditions has a positive impact on our well-being. Of course, condensate can be quite a serious problem, so it shouldn't be a surprise that it needs to be removed. Some air conditioners have tanks that are expected to be emptied manually at least once in a while. However, one cannot disagree with the fact that most devices require a special installation enabling the drainage of condensate. Most often it is made using plastic pipes, which are characterised by a diameter of 1.5 centimetres.

How does air conditioning affect our health?

If you stay in a stream of cold air for a long time, you have to take into account that such action will increase the risk of infection. Moreover, we often have to take into account the risk of eye and skin irritation. However, if you use an air conditioner, you are not doomed to do so, because it is important where you install this type of device. The guiding principle is that the supply air stream should not be directed directly at people. Much better, if it is mixed with the warm air in the room. This is possible thanks to the special movable blades, which are equipped with most air conditioners. It turns out that an air conditioner often has a positive impact on our health. This is because this type of equipment is equipped with a special filter to capture contaminants. What's more, there are even devices available in the sale equipped with a special HEPA filter, which deals perfectly with the capture of dust, pollen, plants, mites and fungal spores.

Filters with silver atoms with strong bactericidal and fungicidal properties are also an interesting solution. You should also think about a solution that releases vitamin C into the air. If you are looking for an air conditioner, you should also find out whether the filter of a device in the centre of your interest can be cleaned and how often it can be replaced. Both the frequency of cleaning and its nature depend on the type of filter used. The finer the contaminants are retained by the filter, the faster the filter will become dirty. Standard solutions are cleaned once a year, although the store also offers disinfectants for air conditioning, which can be used to remove fungi, among other things. With your own health and safety in mind, it is best to call a service technician at least once a year who will help us with a professional inspection of the air conditioning and check how all its components work.

How to adjust the power of the device?

When buying an air conditioner, we must make calculations that allow us to get an answer to the question of how much cooling power it has. Special computer programs are used for this purpose, because it is typical for them to determine the power with high precision. If you want to make your own choice, and at the same time the room where the air conditioner is to be installed is typical, you can assume that the power required to cool 1 square meter is 0.1 kW. In practice, this means that if our room is 20 square metres long, the cooling power of the air conditioner should be 2 kW. The choice is now becoming quite easy, as manufacturers are keen to inform you which room is suitable for the solutions they recommend.
